The newest addition to the Learning Commons family is Lynda.com, an online training library of educational videos on a variety of topics and software applications. Among the online courses offered you can browse by subject, product, vendor, or author (maybe you really like the soothing voice of one of the online instructors).
Lynda.com covers some of the following software programs:
- Adobe CS4
- Apple software products such as iPhoto, iTunes, Keynote, iWork, etc.
- Autodesk AutoCAD and Maya
- Intuit Quickbooks
- Microsoft Office 2007

But wait! She’s so much cooler than you could possibly imagine! The online video tutorials are broken up into pieces, so if you only have time to watch 15 minutes on Adobe After Effects you can always come back and finish. It tracks your progress through the online video tutorials and when you finish your online training you can receive a shiny new certificate of completion.
